Warmest day of the year expected today, rain returns this weekend

We'll have a tiny sprinkle chance Thursday, but chances go up a bit for Friday into the weekend.

MACON, Ga. — Temperatures this afternoon will briefly get into the 90s in several spots, making it the warmest day so far in 2024. Be on the lookout for a sprinkle, 10% chance, down to the south through the early evening hours. Most people will stay dry.

We won't be as warm through the weekend. Expecting 86 on Friday, 82 on Saturday, and 85 on Sunday. The cloud cover around, along with the chance for showers and storms, will be responsible for keeping us cooler. The showers and storms will look like the summer-time variety, but it's actually a weak piece of energy coming through.

Next week will start a new warming trend. Back to 91 by next Wednesday!
